Botox is considered to be safe. It has been used for many years and the ability to use it cosmetically has improved over time. Botox should be given by a trained healthcare provider.
When getting Botox, your provider will use a fine needle to inject small amounts of the Botox into the area being treated. You may get more than one shot to treat the area that you want to improve. This is done as an outpatient procedure and you will be able to go about your normal daily activities once the treatment is done. You may feel some discomfort, but it will be mild.
After you have completed the treatment at the office, you can return to most normal activities. It is recommended that you avoid physical exertion for about 24 hours. You will also need to avoid rubbing or putting pressure on the area that has been treated for about 12 hours.
